Understanding Spiritual Warfare: The Foundation
April 25, 2017
In 2010, the Lord began dealing with me about returning back to the Word of Faith, which is the Word of God. “How do I know God?” was the question I asked people from many denominations but none seemed to have the answer. One day, while watching a faith teacher on television, I heard the answer to my question. How do I know God? The answer was the “Word of God.” In my journey of almost forty years, I have seen and experienced many trends that have come into the Church and as a result, instability and spiritual anemia have set in. That is why the Lord told me to return back to my first love, His Word. The Bible says in John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Let us all return back to the beginning!
Beloved of God, The Word is first and foremost in understanding spiritual warfare. It is by His Word that we pursue to know Father God through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ! It is with His Word that we war. Many believers are running here and there to get a prophetic word, when they really need to delve into Scripture. Jesus said in Mathew 7:21-23, “Not everyone that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but they that do the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name and in thy name cast out devils? and have done many wonderful works? And then I will profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me ye that work iniquity.” Notice what is most important here. It is knowing Him, which is the will of the Heavenly Father. Let that be the first foundation block in our lives when dealing with spiritual warfare.
In the days of old, foundations for buildings were built one block at a time. I see the foundation of faith being constructed in a block form, not like they are today with one big slab. The Bible says Jesus is the Chief corner stone of truth. I love the Word of God and what it has to say about every aspect of life and that includes the good, the bad, and the ugly! Let us contend (strive) to know the Father through His Word!
In the next part of “Understanding Spiritual Warfare” I will be talking about the Kingdom of Heaven, the earthly kingdom, and the kingdom of darkness.
Stay tuned for more!
