The Chosen

The Chosen                                            August 22, 2017

I’ve been thinking a lot lately on what it means to be “Chosen” and what a life lived walking in the anointing looks like. The truth is, there are no short cuts to having the power of God in your life. Salvation is free but the anointing is costly. If you want it, it will require total consecration of your life to God. There is no other way. That’s why the Bible says, “many are called but few are chosen.” Few are willing to dedicate their lives to prayer and fasting. The Bible also says, “to whom much is given, much is required.”

It is far easier to continue sitting on a pew or in a padded church chair and keep waiting on the next somebody who has made the sacrifice to lay down their lives, who is paying the price, to come by and lay hands on us. But is that what God has called us to? There is more for those that are hungry and are willing. Isn’t it a better thing to BE that person who walks in authority, in power, that can pray down Heaven and see mighty moves of God everywhere that they go? I used to think that was designated only for those called to be evangelists but now having been in a season of pursuit in my own life, I’ve come to realize it’s not for certain ones, but for every one… if they will set their hearts to go after God.

We keep waiting on the next big move of God but I’m convinced, God is waiting on us because WE ARE HIS NEXT BIG MOVE.

Several weeks ago while in prayer, I saw as though I were standing in the edge of an ocean, the waters just below my knees. The vision flashed and the next scene I saw, I was still in the waters but now they were up to my waist. I began walking forward out into the waters until finally my head was completely covered and I immediately felt this was an invitation from the Lord to go deeper. In the vision, I had walked out until I was completely submerged under the water. There was nothing left of me that was seen. As I watched this scene, I felt that the waters represented the Holy Spirit, what was a complete submerging into His presence, into the deeper place in Him. What I saw that night in prayer represented a death of self, but an awakening in my spirit. God is calling us to come after Him!

Awakening starts in us, in our own lives and in our own homes as we get so hungry for more of God that we get desperate enough to pursue Him. When we empty ourselves out of all the “stuff” that stands between us and God and clean off the altars of our hearts, we will find Him! He will not accept second place. When we give Him our time, He fills us with the oil of His Presence and the fire of God comes on us when we fast and pray.

There is no point on this side of eternity where we ever reach the summit of where we can go in the Lord, or how much anointing or fire we can have in our lives. The only thing hindering us, is US. It’s time to put away the distractions in our lives and become who He has called us to be! BE THE CHOSEN!

I pray that as each one of you read this, that a hunger for the more of God will be stirred up in you. I pray that He will draw you by His Spirit into a place of pursuit, into His promise for you, that you will hear His voice and come to know His heart. I pray that you will have an encounter with His Presence and that your life will never be the same. In Jesus’ name!
